Cubase 15.0.21 with meter issue. It stays above 0 dB, reproducing the audio of an already mastered song, leaving the audio distorted in the meter. In Cubase 15.0.10 this does not happen, as shown in the screenshot. I hope this bug gets fixed.
To me it looks a bit like “Peak hold” was maybe not configured in the first example, but it is difficult to judge from the screenshots.
Can you run “Audio->Statistics” on the audio file and post the result?
Is this the exact same project, not changes made?
Open Cubase normally, import a song already mastered in 0DB. In Cubase 15.0.21 it exceeds 0DB. In Cubase 13,14 and 15.0.10 this does not happen. No plugins inserted, no adjustments made and it happens with any mastered track.
I normally don’t master anything at 0dB but I just tried rendering a couple of my 2 track mixes at 0dB (true peak) in Wavelab then opening them in Cubase 15.0.21. The meters stay pegged at 0dB, they don’t go over.
When I open Cubase 15.0.21 it is around 1 DB above 0DB. In Cubase 15.0.10 it is stuck at 0DB. Was there some configuration that changed? I never had this problem in previous versions.
