Cubase 15.0.30 Chorder doesn't send Note Off correctly with Novation Launchkey Mini MK4

Hi,

I’ve run into a strange issue with Cubase Chorder after replacing my MIDI keyboard.

Setup:

  • Cubase Pro 15.0.30
  • macOS
  • Novation Launchkey Mini MK4 25
  • Cubase Chorder (MIDI Insert)

With my previous MIDI keyboard, Chorder worked well. )but i had problems with midi remote)

With the Launchkey Mini MK4:

  • Without Chorder, everything works normally.
  • With Chorder inserted, generated notes get stuck indefinitely.

I inserted a MIDI Monitor after Chorder.

Here’s what I found:

Input from Launchkey:

Note On D#2 velocity 26
Note On D#2 velocity 0

So the Launchkey correctly sends Note Off as Note On with velocity 0.

However, after Chorder generates a chord, I only see events like:

Note On C2 velocity 93
Note On D#3 velocity 93
Note On G3 velocity 93

When I release the key

Note On C2 velocity 64
Note On D#3 velocity 64
Note On G3 velocity 64

The generated notes never receive a proper Note Off and remain stuck.

Has anyone seen this with the Launchkey MK4?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

An update:

I tested the exact same project in Cubase 14.0.40.

The MIDI Monitor shows the same MIDI events, including the generated notes with velocity 64 instead of Note Off or 0

However, in Cubase 14 the notes stop correctly when I release the key.

In Cubase 15.0.30, using the same project and the same hardware, the generated notes remain stuck until I press Stop/Play (which sends All Notes Off).

Could you try in the Cubase Safe Start Mode [Disable preferences], please?

I also tested this in Safe Mode with “Disable program preferences” selected.

The hanging notes issue is still present.

i’m a bit confused because after launching Cubase in Safe Mode, my project still appears exactly as usual. My custom key commands, window layout, and other personalized settings all seem to be intact, which makes me wonder whether the preferences were actually disabled or if this is expected behavior.

In any case, the hanging notes issue is still reproducible in Safe Mode.
