When opening a C14/N14 project with expression maps which use Program Changes as triggers for the articulation slots, the trigger method gets changed to key switches. You have to manually switch it back for every map. This is this tiny icon marked in red.
Hi,
Confirmed and reported to Steinberg. Thank you!
I’m not 100% sure if I’m having the exact same bug but it seems similar. I’m using the output mapping to send a note value to do key switching. Everything switches fine until I record. After recording, it stays on the last articulation. If I go in and change articulations nothing happens until I remove the map and re-add it. Then everything plays back fine and I can adjust the articulations. This ONLY happens when I’m outputting a note. My maps that send midi CC data are fine. Any ideas?
Hi,
Do I understand you right:
- Have a MIDI Track with MIDI Part A, located at bars 2-5.
- Some Expression Map is in use, and some Articulation is set.
- Place the Cursor on bar 7 and start recording.
- Record some MIDI Notes.
- Go back to bars 2-5 and play it back.
=> The Articulation doesn’t work.
Or am I missing something?
To me, it works this way.
I made a quick video. I record using 2 different articulations. Cubase shows the two different articulations but ONLY plays back the last one. I toggle the expression map and it plays back perfectly. But I have to toggle the map on ever time I record something new.
Hi,
Thank you for the video. How did you switch the articulation while recording? Did you press the given MIDI Note while recording (this is my impression, you did it)? If this is the case, then yes, it’s the same issue described above.
Thank you for your quick response!
Yes, I did press a midi note to switch the articulation during recording. So then it sounds like this is the same bug which has been reported (so thank you).
