Cubase 15 adding 20-30 seconds silence to renders

Just been rendering some mixes, and Cubase is adding 20-30 seconds to the rendered mixes for some reason, even though the looping region is set correctly.

This is using the new ‘quick audio export’. Happens with audio and mp3.

Also, the MP3 bitrate defaults to 128kbs… I would like to be able to set it to 320kbs. Is there a way to set the properties of the ‘quick audio export’?

Also, exporting in Cubase 15 seems to take 3-4 times as long as in Cubase 14. So ‘quick export’ is not quick at all. It takes longer to render, and then I have to open those renders in Wavelab to cut 20-30 seconds of silence from them…

Also, the new horizontal trackpad scrolling on the mixer is an awful change. I can disable trackpad scrolling on faders (which I want), but no option t disable the horizontal scrolling (that I don’t want!).

Cubase 15 Pro: Quick Audio Export feature adds 30 seconds of silence

btw. Quick Audio Export ignores deliberately locator range settings.

MP3 files are saved with a sample rate of 44.1 kHz and a bit rate of 256 kB/s. This is not adjustable.

A comparison test of the duration of audio export with the Austin Hull - Cubase 14 Demo Project showed that all of the following 4 methods took exactly the same amount of time:

  • Exported by C14 into wav 44.1/24
  • Exported by C15 into wav 44.1/24
  • Exported by C15 into wav 44.1/24 - Quick Audio Export
  • Exported by C15 into mp3 44.1/256 - Quick Audio Export
