It looks like Multi Processing and ASIO-Guard cannot be turned off in V15.
I have been attempting to track some severe V15 performance issues on a Mac Pro M2 Ultra running macOS 15.7.1 and 24 Cores when an Instrument track is record-enabled.
My understanding is that ASIO-Guard is disabled for record-enabled tracks for real-time monitoring, which I would fully expect. However, when attempting to disable those two options in Settings→Audio, they can be unchecked, but when confirming with OK and returning to the dialog, they are turned back on.
I haven’t spun up a prior Cubase version to verify, but in Cubase 15 there is only a Cancel and OK button on that Audio Settings dialog. See the screenshot.
BTW, just for kicks, I installed Cubase 15 on a Mac Studio, so a brand new install, and it behaves the same way, not being able to deactivate both settings.
I believe I read in a support article that ASIO-Guard has to be disabled in the Plugin Manager for VST Instruments and Plug-Ins, which I have done as well. Makes no difference.
If there is an “Apply” button somewhere, I must have missed it.
Well, wouldn’t you know! Two different dialogs showing configuration options. One accepts the change, the other doesn’t. Steinberg has some fixing to do.
So, here’s the deal:
Studio Setup: Multi Processing and ASIO-Guard setting can be persisted with “Apply”.
Audio Settings from the “Cubase” application menu (Left-most menu option running on macOS) shows the settings, but does not persist them when clicking on OK to close the dialog. See my earlier screenshot.
