Cubase 15 - Copy existing preferences

How many versions back does C15 go to copy/inherit excisting preferences etc?

This time around I may start with a clean slate (and manually copying over my Key Commands, Plugin Manager + a couple other xml’s).

I just wanna make sure how many versions back I have to temporarily rename before starting up C15.

PS. That said, I have for the longest time just installed and started the newer versions and let it fetch the prefs… And I have never met any problem with that.
I just want to see how it looks by default

When a new version comes out, the first thing I try to do is go into the Prefs and resave mine, and title them with the new version. For example this one was ‘C15 Start’. It’s still essentially using my same preferences from when I moved back to Cubase at 11, they’ve just been saved as a new version with an updated name each time, and I cant even remember the last time I actually changed one.

Although last night it came in handy as I was playing with the new color schemes (Thank you for the teal, my favorite color Steinberg hah) and used my preferences to revert back to the color scheme I started with.

If you want to see things by ‘default’, just save your preferences and then reset everything. That way you can go right back to where you left off at if you don’t like it. I still have my saved C12 Prefs, C13 Prefs, etc and they all seem to work fine still.

Thanks… Me neither

This is in line with how I have done it for the longest time… Never had any trouble, always ended up using my previous Prefs (saved and backed up).

Thanks again
