Hi Martin, I was thinking about reinstalling Cubase15, I.m using 14 at the moment, should I just reinstall from download assistant, or should I dump 15 to the bin first via the finder, or does the download assistant do that anyway?
Hi,
If you want to restart Cubase 15, delete it from the Applications folder on your Mac. Then you reinstall it again from the Steinberg Download Assistant
You can also try to reset your Cubase preferences. To do so, please delete the Cubase preferences folder.
Cubase Preferences folders are:
Mac: ~/Library/Preferences/Cubase X
Win: %appData% \Steinberg\Cubase X_64
Where the X is the Cubase version (for example 15).
hi Martin, I did all you suggested, then reloaded 15 opened a project that works fine in 14, it crashed, this is the report
Cubase 15-2025-11-17-165918.ips (227.8 KB)
HI Martin, I have these 3rd Party VST plugins, they work great with 14, I was wondering if I could disable them to see if they are causing the crash’s, the problem is I don’t know how to disable these
Hi,
Thank you for all the *.ips files. I have forwarded all of them to Steinberg.
Unfortunately, the call stacks are quite generic. But on the other hand, they are all the same, so it points to something.
There are several issues with Cubase Pro 15. I am using the Windows 11 version on the latest update 15.0.6. This update fixed some crashing and slowness but I am finding the that VST instruments don’t work properly and you can’t change the instrument because they all sound the same. Also when I want to change a chord setting it pulls up a dialogue box constantly loading and counting chord progressions into the millions. For me its unusable and I am back on Cubase 14. I will wait for the next update before I try again. Steinburg should be testing their products better than this and putting out something at least close to fit for purpose. Leaving it to their customers to test is a pretty bad show.
