Cubase 15 freezing when loading VST effect plugins on my secondary monitor

Cubase 15 becomes unresponsive when loading VST effect plugins. The issue is triggered when the plugin’s interface is displayed on one of my secondary monitors. My setup includes a main monitor with 2K resolution and two secondary monitors with 1K resolution. I’m using Windows 11 25H2.

I’m also seeing a related bug. If the Mixer is on a secondary monitor, loading and then closing FabFilter Q3 on that monitor will make Cubase unresponsive. This doesn’t occur as long as the Mixer is on the same screen as the main Project Window.

There is a bug yet to be fixed which relates to running monitors with different resolutions and scaling. Native Instruments plugins won’t even open their interface when the bug is in effect. The workaround for now involves starting Cubase with only one monitor running so it gets its scaling and resolution information from that screen, then you activate the other monitors.

Hi @JimmySlips, you might want to disable or uninstall the Nahimic Service, then you should be able to use Minifreak (or whatever other software freezing with a white window) on the second monitor. The issue is not directly connected to NVIDIA, using multiple monitors, mirroring screens or using a TV, but the interaction between OpenGL accelerated software, Nahimic and multiple monitors (the video window in Cubase 12 would yield the same result as Minifreak). Thank you, I resolved this issue by disabling the Nahimic Service.
