Cubase 15: Installation problem with Omnivocal

Just bought Cubase 15 upgrade. When I tried installing it (on my Windows 11 machine) and came to the “Tools” section, I got a message: “Yamaha Omnivocal 1.0.6 (Beta): Installation failed due to an unknown error.”

It went on to say that the installer was successfully downloaded and could be launched manually. I did that and it succeeded. Nevertheless, Steinberg Download Assistant is still saying that Omnivocal is not installed, and it fails again when I ask Download Assistant to install it.

Suggestions?

You have to manually install it, go to your folder, open the zip / rar file and install it from that

I did, and it installed successfully. But then when I launch the Steinberg Download Assistant, it still says that Omnivocal isn’t installed.

The real question is: Can you find Omnivocal when running Cubase? Is it working? If it is yes for both, it is only a problem from download manager.

I’m having the exact same problem. Also tried the manual install and SDA say’s it is still not installed and gives the same error message.

I opened cubase 15 and looked around for it but didn’t see it. It’s in the tools menu I assume? Is it somewhere else?

You have to uncompress the zip file in it’s folder location and install from there.

Yes, that’s what I did.

Just delete it in the download manager so it resets to install so you can download other files in the manager.

The SDA only tracks what it installs.

If I do that, won’t the download manager stop informing me about future updates?

Hello all

Updating from C14pro to C15pro I was looking to try Omnivocal.

Before was not possible to install it with download manager, then I opened and find the zip file, unzipped and have a setup

I did setup installation but, opened a new project on C15 pro I found the VST omnivocal Yamaha.

Create a track with Omnivocal but I received the message “OMNIVOCAL BETA IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THIS DAW”. Is included or not? and if included how i can use it on C15 pro?

I just had same issue you need to add it to your project as a Track Instrument and not a Rack Instrument ,then it should work ok.Dont know why it wont work as a Rack Instrument.

OK Elderman great I will check it

thank you so much

It works, well let’s say that but watching the video of Dom I didn’t see all controls included add text. Let’s say that being a beta version I just go over this plug in and check the new C15.

Ok I found all (adding text)

thanks

Hi there. I got the same error message but in my case when I installed it manually from the download-folder, it was installing fine. But now I have another error. When I load the plugin, the “Text”-Parameter is missing in the note-editor.

Don’t know how to get rid of it.

Cheers Paddy

Same here. Did install from folder but showing as not installed in download assistant also. Hopefully this won’t stop further downloads and installs…

I had that when I loaded cubase 14 by mistake, did cause me to scratch my head…
Worked OK in Cubase 15 though.

Finally we fixed SDA install problem. Now everyone can download from SDA correctly.

We are sorry for your inconvenience.

and Omnivocal can not work with Rack track. please stand Omnivocal from instrument track.
