Cubase 15 Lower window Alt activating menu on windows

Hi,

when working in lower zone VariAudio or Audiowarp, pressing alt on windows activates menu navigation (File, ect). Is there a way to disable it?

This is actually the first time that I have noticed this behaviour. I’m afraid I don’t know if there’s a way to turn it off. May I ask why it is bothering you?

here, press then release alt without clicking the mouse activates menu navigation when the user doesn’t use it with a mouse click of some kind.

Though I did observe that it wasn’t entirely consistent each time I released the key.

Ok, that is indeed a hinderance. I never press Alt without an additional key so that’s probably why I have never noticed this kind of behaviour.

Alt is the long-time key to activate the menu for people who use the keyboard to access menus.
Not all programs respect it.
Alt+SPACE, for instance, should show the system menu, the one you get when you click the top left corner. Do that and selecting “Move” will enable you to move a window with the “arrow” keys. &tc.

If I remember correctly, and I might not, an autohot key script that just says

Altup::return

Should avoid this problem. I’ll check it after the gig

Hi, it is bothersome for example when tuning vocals. Alt activates the split tool so I do not have to slowly find the line to split the note. But when doing things fast it keeps activating the menus

I noted that this occurs only when the mouse is hovering over something where the alt key has no function, though I didn’t test every editor.
