Cubase 15: Option to decouple Track Name and Track Versions / Disable pop-up menu on click

Hi everyone,

I’ve recently updated to Cubase 15 and I’m finding the new combined “Track Name / Track Versions” widget quite frustrating for my workflow.

In large projects (50+ tracks), I often click on the track name just to select the track and navigate. However, in Cubase 15, clicking the name now triggers the Track Versions pop-up menu by default. This constantly interrupts my flow and makes navigation feel “clunky.”

Is there any way to:

  1. Decouple the Track Name from the Track Versions menu?

  2. Set the Track Versions menu to open only via double-click or a specific icon?

  3. Completely hide the Track Version index (V1, V2) from the track control area without hiding the track name?

If these options don’t exist yet, I would like to request a preference to disable the “click-to-open versions” behavior on the track name. It’s very easy to misclick when working fast.

Does anyone have a workaround or is this something we should hope for in a future maintenance update?
