Cubase 15 pro doesn't close properly

I found out that if I close cubase it is still running in the backround.

The next time I open Cubase it gives the message that cubase was not closed and I have to choose how to open cubase this time. I also have to choose -again- which soundcard I want to use. And the most annoying is that the recent songs are not in the hub. what also means that the -new- path to were the songs are stored is not safed.

I use the m-audio fast track ultra 8R and fisrt thought there was the problem. I found an update for the drivers via the Avid website.

Any ideas?

Hello and welcome to the forum,

Does that mean that you kill it e.g. via the task manager?

Does the safe mode start up dialog give any hint where the error occurred (usually at the top, see here?

In the new MIDI stack, we’ve been having problems with inmusic (m-audio, AKAI) MIDI drivers. If you are on the new stack, that is likely the issue.

Cubase strarts up normally. because I got this message too many times

I checked the taskmanager and saw Cubase still running in the backround.

So it says Freeze. But it seems Cubase closed normal. Mostly I work one sesion on CUbase so if I stop using Cubase I also close the computer. I now find out that if I close Cubase and than open it, it doesn’t open at all. After closing Cubase in the taskmanager ( I see two running, closed them both)) It starts up but it stops loading here

and if it starts up , after restarting the computer, I get thes message every time

thanks for the replies!
