Problem: Cubase 15 Pro does not save my Midi Remote mapping.
I have to remap everything when I re-open Cubase after using Cubase with or without the keyboard.
I purchased a M-Audio Oxygen Pro 49 before buying Cubase but I’m not certain that the Midi Controller is the source of the problem. I am not pleased with the M-Audio’s compatibility with Cubase and its confusing workflow (and “doesn’t-work” flow) but that is another story.
I am able to connect the controller to the USB input on my MIDI inputs. I am able to create a surface and I am able to map the sliders, knobs, and pads.
When I turn off the midi controller and open cubase. It shows (as it should) there is no midi controller available.
HOWEVER, after closing cubase, turning on the midi controller, and opening cubase again. All the prior mapping disappears.
It doesn’t matter whether Cubase has been opened with or without the M-Audio turned on. It still loses the mapping. I am using Preset/Preset 10 every time on the M-Audio. I cannot map using the USER DAW function.
I have tried reloading saved (exported script) config and mapping files and reloading them into the path; restarting Cubase with the saved files, but it does not recognize them.
Hi,
My OS is Windows10, iOS users will adapt it to their OS.
Maybe the problem is that Cubase probably won’t save the user script to the scripts system directory. I used following procedure for my Roland A-800Pro which is not listed in the presets list (I think you can also create your own script for any controller):
Turn on your controller and check in Cubase - Studio setup - Midi Port Setup that your controller’s Midi-In and Midi Out are active.
I created my own script and saved it to new backup directory (e.g. D:\MyControllerScripts) as “A-Pro.midiremote“. The script worked OK, I saw my controller layout with assigned functions
I opened “Midi Remote Manager”, clicked on “Show Script Info” and I found the path to the scripts system directory (“Script Path”).
When after restarting Cubase my controller was not recognized,
I opened “Windows Explorer”, then I entered the scripts address with Ctrl+V in the address line (Enter) and manually copied my script from D:\MyScripts to the scripts system directory.
