All of the “synths” in the demo for Cubase 15 are not usable via USB keyboard,. The Sweetcase EP piano is recognized, however. Clicking on the icon in the inspector brings up the VI and you can get sound by clicking inon the graphic of the keyboard. The USB keyboard is not recognized by any of the loaded instrumnets, But the Piano in the songwriter template is playable. thus keyboard is being recognized. What next? i tried to reset the midi outs. No go. Barrier to entry yhere.
Did you record-enable or monitor the tracks in question?
The newly created Halion Sonic Instrument is exactly like the Sweetcase EP. Record enable red button is on.
Seems like when you create a new track and select an instrument, it should be ready to go. The keyboard is working for Sweetcase and PadShop, just not any of the “Synth” instruments. Wierd.
What are you calling ANY of the synth instruments. If Halion is the problem compared to some others it may well be you’re sending to the wrong midi channel…something with only one voice like Sweetcase will accept any channel.
When creating an instrument, there is a drill-down for input device. I didn’t catch that and it was set to the StudioCapture interface and not the Keystation. After setting up the instrument, there is another drop-down in the Inspector under “Routing” I didn’t see that before, so just getting used to the nomenclature and “where stuff is at” aspect. Thanks for your help.
