Cubase 16 Feature Request for Midi Remote Mapping Manager (if not already in C15)

Please give us the option to show just the interface.

Not sure I understand, perhaps I’m missing something concerning your request. We can always see just the midi remote surface either in the lower zone, or if we hit the arrow button at the top-right corner of the remote, have it in a separate window.

Thank you for your reply.

Yes, I appreciate it can open as a separate window, which is handy.

If we could also be given the option to hide the Mapping Assistant section (at the top) and the Mappings section (at the bottom), leaving just the graphical representation of the midi controller, that would be brilliant! That would allow the user to keep it open and use more real estate (i.e. open the top and bottom sections) only when necessary.

I still fail to understand. Why keeping the assistant open all the time, since you can always simply double click on a midi surface element and it will open exactly when you need to bind something to this specific element.

Because my midi controller has multiple layers, each layer having different Cubase shortcuts and representing different stages in the start-to-finish process of a music project. My controller (like many others, I’m sure) doesn’t have a display to tell the currently selected layer.

Now, while I’m still able to perform the same function (i.e. determine the currently selected layer) when the Midi Remote Mapping Manager is open, it’s a case of always having to close it because it takes up too much space to be left open while continuing with the project.

Furthermore, once the mapping has been completed, there is no real need to see those sections… unless something needs to be added/amended/removed, in which case, the user would click on the show/hide icon (mentioned in the video) to perform either of those actions.

Just to clarify… the lack of this feature is by no means a dealbreaker; but it would certainly be a great addition.
