The new Folder Tracks are great, especially now that they can also be used directly as group channels.
There is just one thing I would really like to see: the option to decide whether the Folder Track is placed at the beginning or at the end of a group of tracks.
My workflow is usually structured so that all individual tracks come first and are then routed to a group. For this reason, I would prefer the Group/Folder Channel to appear at the bottom, after all the tracks it contains. From a signal-flow perspective, this also feels much more logical to me.
Perhaps you could add an option when creating a Folder Track that lets the user choose whether the Folder Track should be placed above or below the contained tracks.
I haven’t used it, but I’ve heard Pro Tools has a function where it can spill left or right of the folder. which would be a really good addition. This would allow people to have the folder track either side
