Cubase 4 license wiped off by installing 10 Pro

I really appreciate you trying to help, mate. I’m also at a loss to understand why I don’t have that folder created when I install the LCC. I’ve tried so many things, but nothing works. Managed to open up a support card, but no answer yet, of course.

Well, sir…this has finally worked!!
I finally found the folder in a different path and replaced the old .SLD file with the new one. Bingo!!!
Cubase 10 license now listed, cubase 4.5 started up on the old, XP machine…
Thank you very much everyone, especially ulesto.

Great to hear! Happy to have helped

Hello,

I have a similar issue. I want to use a Windows XP SP3 laptop with Firewire for using my old school Firewire DAW control surface with Cubase 4 LE, but get the message the eLicense Controller Software (eLC) is too old when I do maintenance or update the database. I received the updated database SysnoPos407C.SLD from support, but there was no SLD already on the machine or location to put it, including hidden folders.

Please let me know what your solution was and what were the specific file paths.

Thank you.
Paul

Hi Paul.
I honestly can’t remember what path and folder they’re in. I know how frustrating it must be for you.
When I get back to the old machine, I’ll try to find it and post it here…
Cheers

Thanks. Much appreciated!

Hi, Paul.
Try in:
C:\Windows\system32

The correct path for me on Windows XP was:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\eLicenser\eLD
