Cubase 5 and Tascam US 122L

Please help,
I’m trying to import a midi file, the only problem is that the dam thing wants to playback from the installed HALionOne software…
I want the sounds to play from my Korg X5DR sound modual which is conected via my Tascam US122L interface.
Iv’e set everything up on the device manager on Cubase, and the outputs and inputs for audio are ok, however when I try and select in the top right hand corner of Cubase the midi output, it’s not showing… It just shows VST instuments and HALionOne.
The only way I can get it to show up is to create new blank midi tracks, then it shows the US 122L…
Can anyone help me, is there a way of not having the HALionOne playing back the midi info??

drag the midi onto the midi track.

an instrument track can’t access external midi ports, so you will need to make a midi track.

Hi Split, thanks that’s what I thought. Just hoped there would be a quicker way. :frowning: :frowning:

Well, you can set an import preference, so MIDI will be imported to MIDI tracks directly, if that helps…
