cubase 5 and W7 64 bit

Hi,
I bought Cubase 5 about 2 years ago.
I am now thinking of moving to W7 64 bit, but I dont know if I have Cubase 64 bit installation … is it the same CD?
What do I do now?
Thanx!

It it on your Cubase 5 install disk. It will give the option of 32 bit or 64 bit install.

Thanks.
Do you find Cubase 5 to be fully compatible with W7?

I was only using Cubase 5 on Windows 7 before upgrading to Cubase 6. I was having the occasional hang on exiting Cubase that a few others experience but otherwise it was working fine. I am fairly certain W7 was officially supported by Steinberg for C5.

Studio 5 64 running perfectly here on Windows 7. Go for it!

I’m having some hangs on exits as well. If Cubase is open for a long time, and I’ve “locked” (switch user function in W7) the computer for some hours, it will sometimes hang as well. And Cubase is not protecting itself against faulty VSTs, so then Cubase hangs as well, but I guess that’s the same with 32 bit. All in all, no big problem, but I hope it doesn’t do that during my forthcoming live performances…

Been running Cubase 5 on W7 64 bit for a couple of years now with no problems, except the 32bit plugins problem.
Depending on your plugins, er waves, you might need jbridge.

Same here…all good with C5 in W7 64bit.

If u run the 64bit C5 you’ll have to jbridge all your 32bit plugins.
