# cubase 5 crashing

I have just started a new project which has around 5 samples no more than 4 bars long each so nothing major. But for some reason when I bring up the loop browser and click on anything in the browser the whole thing crashes. I have to say this is the first time Ive ever had this problem with cubase … can anyone help please?  
Just tried the same thing on other songs and same thing happening
