Using Mac Os !0.7.3 on a MacBook Pro 2.66 GHz and a Steinberg MR816 cx firewire interface with lastest driver ( 1.7.2.2) and firmware (1.1).
Under Cubase 6.0.5 if I use the Audio Hardware panel to switch the 816 from internal Effects mode to External Effects Mode the audio driver unloads with the message " Yamaha Steinberg FW has been removed…" see attachment.
I have to literally restart the whole system to get it back … though the change has at least been applied.
The workaround is to quit Cubase and make the change in the MR Editor or System Preferences pane. This works fine, so I think Cubase is causing the issue.
