Cubase 6 and Windows media player

I have a new computer running windows 7 and Cubase 6.
When I have a Cubase file open, Windows Media Player doesn’t work but as soon as I close Cubase it is fine. Any idea why?

Yes … because you haven’t ticked the ‘release drivers in background’ box on the audio tab in device manager for your audio device.

Sometimes the simplest things need to be done to solve what appears to be a big problem.

Sorted in a couple of minutes and everything is fine.
