Cubase 6 has stopped working message?

Hey folks,

I’ve started getting a ‘Cubase 6 has stopped working’ message when I try to open some of my projects.

This happening during a session today - no new software (audio or otherwise) has been installed on the PC in the last few months.

The Windows event viewer is giving me the following:

Faulting application name: Cubase6.exe, version: 6.0.7.364, time stamp: 0x4f5f87dc
Faulting module name: Cubase6.exe, version: 6.0.7.364, time stamp: 0x4f5f87dc
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x000000000134d7be
Faulting process id: 0x1224
Faulting application start time: 0x01cdd3e1737863d6
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Cubase 6\Cubase6.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Cubase 6\Cubase6.exe

I’ve re-booted several times and can occassionaly open some of the projects. I backed them up to a different location, and tried opening from there but same issue.

Any ideas on what I can do next to troubleshoot, other log files I can look at etc? The projects in questions only have a handful of plugs I’ve been using for months/years, and no VSTis.

Windows 7 64bit
16GB RAM
Cubase 6 version: 6.0.7.364

Cheers,
Stephen.

I get this too, but only mid-flow- Cubase unexpectedly quits without warning- extremely frustrating. I am in communications with someone from Steinberg tech support at the moment but would seriously like some answers soon as I’m losing my patience fast. :imp:

Frustrating indeed. I hope you work out the issue soon.
