Cubase 6 MP3 export: ID3 tags corrupt

Hi all,

I just started using Cubase LE 6 and am getting into the swing of things. Great feature set :sunglasses:

Now I came across a problem when exporting to MP3 (I bought the MP3 patch): It looks like non-ASCII characters such as ä, ö, ü and ß, which are used a lot in German, are not supported. When I enter those characters in the ID3 Tag dialog they are all wrong in the resulting MP3 file when I look at it in Windows 7 (64 Bit) Explorer. For example:

  • “ü” comes out as “ü”
  • “ß” comes out as “ß”

Is this a known problem with Cubase (LE) or the MP3 Patch? Is there a workaround?

Thanks in advance for any help.
Cheers,
H.

Hello? Anybody out there?

This looks like caracter encoding problem. Either Cubase don’t store right encoding info on MP3 or Windows explorer does not interpret it correctly.
