Just a basic question, I’m interested i trying the Cubase 6 trial but will it run along side my existing Cubase 5 installation or will it overwrite it meaning that if I decide not to go forward to version 6 then I will have to reinstall Cubase 5?

If you are on Windows, the installers are self-contained and should not interfere installing/de-installing.
Presets should also be compatible, as are projects between 5.5 and above.
