Cubase 6 upgrade to Cubase 15

Hi. I have Cubase 6 running on a registered hardware eLicenser on Windows 7. Is it eligible for a free upgrade to the latest Cubase? If so what are the steps to take?

No, Cubase Pro 6 does not get a free update to Cubase 15 Pro. It does receive a discount though.

As long as your dongle and your Cubase 6 are registered at your personal profile area at the main steinberg dot net website, you can …

navigate to “buy” Cubase 15 Pro, at steinberg dot net…select the dropdown box and click on the $249.99 box that applies for cubase 6,7,8 owners etc etc…and then complete your purchase using the same exact email you use to get into your steinberg dot net account.

Once you’ve paid, received your email receipt and download access code, you’ll install Steinberg’s download assistant program, type in the access code (it’s a one-time use so get it right the first time :)…download ver 15, install it…activate it AT your personal profile area at steinberg dot net…and voila…ready to use.

You can continue using your Dongled Cubase 6 as well if you want.

You said you use Windows 7. Not suported but hey, maybe it’ll work. You might want to first install cubase 15 trial to verify before plopping out money…as there are no refunds (I’m sure you know that).

If you’re moving to windows 11, keep in mind that Cubase 15 AND your Dongled Cubase 6, (and 5,4,3 since you can use those too if you want to grab them) will ALL work great on Windows 11.

Your dongle in no way speaks to Cubase 15. Nada. Only to your versions 6,5,4,3. If and when your dongle is eaten by aliens (or your cat), that will be the day you’ll say your fond and permanent farewell to Cubase 6.

Personally, I hope my dongle outlives me cuz I like running Cubase 6.5 and 9 often.
