Way, way too much confusion about which upgrade version I need to go from Cubase 7.5 to Cubase Pro 12. I tried the upgrade to Essentials 12 but it had constant licensing error issues on startup. Would like to hear from someone who has gone this path and knows for sure which upgrade package is correct. Using Windows 11 on an i5-9600K CPU @ 3.70GHz.
An Update is going from Pro 11 to Pro 12, or Artist 10.5 to Artist 12, or Elements to Elements. An Upgrade is going from Elements to Artist or Pro.
Since you don’t state what your Cubase 7.5 XXXXX is, can’t say for sure.

If your Cubase 7.5 is the highest edition (Pro), you can update to Cubase Pro only. You cannot downgrade to any lower edition.
Then the Activation process is rather simple from the Steinberg Activation Manager, where you enter the Download Access Code and ask the rest is done automatically.
