I have been waiting to upgrade from 6.5 to 7 and the price has always been $149. Now everywhere the price has increased to $199. Why? Is it because it will include a grace period update cost to 7.5? That’s the only thing I can think of.

When did you activate C6.5, before or after the grace period?

Hmmm, I guess I missed that announcement. I’ve decided that I’m just going to be purchasing my updates at the .5 versions from now on anyway so I kind of expected to pay $199, but I’m worried that when 7.5 comes out it’ll increase to $250 for an upgrade from 6.5 to 7.5 
If it keeps increasing in price I may have to give my complimentary Studio One license a go (got it from a rep when working a music trade show)… I’d hate to do that since I’ve been using Cubase pretty regularly since SX came out.
Nothing wrong with shopping around… Steinberg would probably be happy to know if you tried the competition and still chose their product. I would say give it a try.
