I currently have CB15 Pro, and have some very old projects and arrangements I’d like to load / import.
Before reinstalling Windows several months ago, I used to have Cubase Pro 8.5 and Cubase SX2 installed; they both launched and ran on Windows 11 (providing I kept my USB e-licencer plugged in).
II thought I could continue to run these programs provided I kept the dongle plugged in; however, this seems not to be the case. Is there a way to continue to run / activate these programs since Steinberg have changed their method of copy protection?
You did install the eLicenser software, didn’t you?
I don’t know about SX2 but 8.5 should run, assuming you had a licence in the first place. The earliest version I currently have is 9.5 - it runs just fine on Windows 10.
Many thanks for the speedy reply; to be clear the issue isn’t obtaining the installation software, the issue is was the e-licencer - I’m using eLC Version 6.9.2.1179, I’m now wondering if it’s the version that’s the problem?

Yes, that’s the culprit. You need to download and install the latest eLicenser Control Center in order to make it work. Youe current eLCC version still tries to connect itself with Steinberg’s servers which are down by now. The latest version will take the licenses on your USB eLicenser as is without trying to connect with a non-existent server.
Downloading the latest eLicenser Control Center (see links above in my previous post) should do the trick
