I would like to upgrade from Cubase pro 8.5 to 9 or 10 but I can’t buy a license, what should I do?
You can only buy upgrades to the Current version of Cubase. That will license you for all the earlier versions too.
Welcome to the forum.
Raino is right, you can only purchase an update to the latest version of Cubase, which is Cubase 14 as of today.
By purchasing an update to Cubase Pro 14, the Cubase Pro 8.5 license in your USB-eLicenser will be automatically updated to Cubase Pro 11, the last version to support the old eLicenser system. This Cubase Pro 11 license will allow you run all previous versions of Cubase all the way back to Cubase SX1, for as long as your USB-eLicenser is connected to your computer.
I assume you want to update to Cubase 9 or 10 for software or hardware compatibility reasons. Once you upgrade your system, you’ll be able to use Cubase Pro 14 (which uses the new software-based Steinberg Licensing system) at any time in the future.
Thank tou Raino,I bought the upgrade but I got an error message when I put the code for the download, it says that I don’t have the license for this product and yet I have it in my e’licenser and my cubase is recorded
Could you post a screenshot of the eLicenser Control Center showing your Cubase license? Is it annotated by a text in parentheses?
Ok, thanks. Could you also post a screenshot of the eLicenser Control Center? That’s the program that lists the licenses present on your USB eLicenser (dongle).
That looks good so far. Did you actually buy an update for Cubase Pro 8.5? Is this mentioned on the invoice?
You’re right, I just realized that I bought the upgrade from Cubase Pros 13
That’s annoying but shouldn’t be too much of a problem. On the page linked below you’ll find instructions on how to request a refund (under Facturation et remboursement > Instructions pour remboursement). Afterwards you can purchase the correct update if you’re still interested.
I sent a request for a refund and yes I will buy the upgrade but the correct one hihihi
