Cubase 8 is using extremely high system resources on my 2014 macbook pro. Opening the same project on 6.5 uses 1/3 the system resources. My computer gets hot fast! Anyone know why or how to fix it? I’m new to Mac and not clear on how to uninstall things. I’m tempted to uninstall and reinstall and see if that fixes the problem but thought I would see if anyone else is having the same issue.

Lets try to switch the ASIO Guard Off. Will see.
To uninstall application on Mac, just delete it from the Applications folder. But I think, this doesn’t help.
I have seen that, but in that example there is virtually no energy impact. On my computer it is a huge impact

Did you open a project with video? Or can you see thes after creating an empty project?
Its like this on empty projects.
Could you try to quit other applications, like Firefox, iTunes, etc., please?
