Cubase 9.0.30 Audio Crossfade Images Incorrect

I’ve noticed that when crossfading audio events, the image at the point of crossfade appears incorrect. I can’t work out where the data is coming from to render the image, but it appears to have nothing to do with the actual audio being crossfaded.

I’m currently using Cubase 9.0.30, but I’m pretty sure this was case with 9.0.20 too.

Example (top two tracks the two separate events, bottom track crossfaded):

I’ve just tried again with the same events and got a different result:

Extra info:

OS: Windows 10 x64
Screens: 1 x 4K @ 225% scale, 1 x 1080P @100% scale

Cannot reproduce on my system. (tried with 100% and 125% scaling)

This one goes way back to version 8. It has been reported already several times but wasnt fixed, so dont hold your breath it will be fixed soon or at all.
It happens at a certain zoom stage.

This is my original bug report from version 8.0.10

The only workaround is to trust your ears instead of the image.

It just doesn’t happen here on any zoom level.

Yes it starts to apear all of a sudden when you have many crosfade edits in your project.

Make a project with enough crossfades that it happens and send it to technical support. That’s the best change for this to get fixed.
