Cubase 9.5 pro video player wont install

Hi, I’ve installed 9.5 pro on a new windows 10 machine and everything loaded except the video player component. It loaded ok on windows 7, there’s no F8 listed under the “studio” menu, and video player isn’t listed in studio setup. Under studio, more options, system component information, it isn’t listed. It is in windows 7. Any ideas???

Hi and welcome,

Make sure, you have the very latest Windows 7 update installed, please.

If this is the case, I would recommend to try to reinstall Cubase. Make sure you:

  • Download the Full Installer.
  • Unpack the ZIP file and you install from the unzipped folder.
  • You install from the setup.exe file.
  • You install as Administrator.

I’m switching to Windows 10, that’s where the problem is, no video tools at all, it works perfectly on Windows 7. The video component wont install on Windows 10, any thoughts?

Hi,

Have you installed the way I described, please?

Is your Cubase installed on system C drive, please?

If you have Cubase installed on Windows 7 system, you can also try to copy the component file over to Windows 10 manually.

It is installed on the C: drive as you described, can you tell me where the component file is located? and its name?

Hi,

The path is: C:Program Files/Steinberg/Cubase 10.5/Components/
