Cubase 9 - Doubling of audio whilst channel in monitor mode

Hello all,
I only get the doubling of the input signal when I click the channel into Monitor Mode. I feel that one of the signals is slightly latent. This is quite annoying for the recording performer. I cannot find where this extra signal is routed from.
Just to be clear I am not experiencing latency issues.
The monitoring in the studio of the Vocal MIC Input is what is in question here.
I am using Cubase 9 with UR44 - any would be appreciated!

Hi and welcome to the forum,

Most probably, you are using the Direct Monitoring on your Audio Device already.

Yes, monitoring through any DAW is delayed.

Direct monitoring is not selected and I still have the issue.

So when you turn off record monitoring on the channel do you still hear anything??
