Cubase AI5/ CI2 connection trouble.

Hi, I’m just staring out with making my DAW, so please excuse my ignorance!

I installed Cubase 5 and Tools for CI2 into my computer but now Cubase 5 won’t recognize my MIDI keyboard when I run it through line 1 in the CI2. I tried the HIZ button both ways in line 1. Am I just not setting the midi devices menu in cubase up right? It seems like I have tried every combination! Can someone help me and tell me what I am doing wrong? Thanks!

Also, I have been having trouble with internal mic feedback despite setting low volume levels.

Audio & MIDI are two different things.

Hi,

Since there is no MIDI In/Out on the CI I think you have to connect a mixer to your line input then connect it to your keyboard. Cubase won’t recognize your keyboard through a line input!

The easiest way to accomplish this is to look into MIDI interfaces, which are small and inexpensive. Never press the HIZ button unless you have connected a guitar/bass to your input!
