Most references to this I can find are people saying they want Cubase to allow lock screen or screen savers, but, for the first time ever yesterday, Cubase 14 (running on a plugged in macbook pro M2) started going to lock screen during recordings after about 10mins, and in doing so, stopped the recording ruining my session.
I went into the mac settings and did every conceivable ‘stay on all the time’ setting change, and it still happened.
Does anyone have any suggestions why this might be happening?
You likely just have to turn OFF the screen saver/screen lock. The ‘inactivity’ trigger doesn’t pertain to the computer actually doing something, it has to do with you physically touching the mouse and/or keyboard and interacting with it. If I compile an app that takes awhile or takes up all the CPU, I’ll just leave the Mac and go do something else. Screen saver kicks in right on the dot despite the Mac churning away with all its cores building something.
Mine is set to run the screen saver after 10 minutes and then lock after 15. I’ve left Apple Music playing, Quicktime videos playing, Plex running a video in Safari, etc. Mac still turns on the screen saver if I haven’t physically touched the computer in 10 minutes. It’s real fun when like Slayer is blaring and I have to run and unlock the Mac to stop it so I can hear the misses asking me a question haha.
