Cubase and Yamaha Genos

I recently connected my Genos to Cubase through its USB midi port. In Cubase I use Control and Program Changes to select the right sounds of Genos for my arrangements. But when I want to use a voice that has an effect on it (for example a distorted guitar) I only hear the clean sound.
On forums I was adviced to use specifically one of the two midi ports A or B, or use specific midi channels (the Song channels, so not Right 1, 2, 3 etc.) But I can’t get it to work. Perhaps someone has an idea?

In which mode is Genos, please? Is the sound available in the given mode?

Hi, I’m not sure I understand your question. Does Genos have different operation modes?

In the end I want to use Genos as a sound module controlled by Cubase.
