Hi it’s been a while. I use a copy of cubase artist 6. I have only just learnt of the new licensing regime from 21/22. Can I replace my dongle, sadly on it’s last legs, with the new license procedure and can I use the software on both my laptops?

Cubase 6 is compatible with the eLicenser only. Only Cubase 12 and newer are compatible with the new Steinberg Licensing system.
You can purchase an upgrade from Cubase Artist 6 to Cubase 12 from here:
Please connect your USB-eLicenser dongle to your main computer, then enter the download access code that will be emailed to you into the Steinberg Download Assistant.
The new licensing system allows you to activate your Cubase license on up to 3 computers simultaneously. Additionally, if one of your laptops is too outdated to run Cubase 12, you can continue running Cubase 6 by connecting your USB-eLicenser dongle to it. All you have to do is download the latest eLicenser Control Center and update the license database by clicking the Maintenance button to the top right.
