Cubase Artist 8 to Pro 13 Upgrade confusion

Hey all

I have Cubase Artist 8 right now, and I’m about to buy an upgrade for Cubase Pro 13. But their description is a bit confusing, and I am worried that I will make a mistake and not get the most out of my money, so here are my questions:

1). “As a special thank you to our loyal customers, those with an activated Cubase Pro 13, Dorico Pro 5, WaveLab Pro 12, or Nuendo 13 license in their Steinberg user account will also enjoy exclusive loyalty rebates on selected products in the Steinberg Online Shop during the promotion period.” ← Does this mean that I don’t benefit from this? Or can I just upgrade from Artist 8 to Pro 13 and still benefit from this and get those so called “exclusive loyalty rebates”?

2). “More Loyalty Rebates for the Pro Users! Everyone who already owns Cubase Pro 13, or who buys and redeems a full version or an update or upgrade to Cubase Pro 13 during the promotion period, will receive a special loyalty bonus offer.” ← This leads me to the previous question. So If I upgrade to Pro 13 now and go to the voucher section, there should be vouchers that give discount on certain products?

According to their description: “the loyalty rebate is only applicable to purchasing full versions of Cubase Pro 13, Dorico Pro 13, WaveLab Pro 12 and Absolute 6”, which leads me to the next confusion / question.

3). “If you have an activated license for Cubase Pro 13, Dorico Pro 5, WaveLab Pro 12, or Nuendo 13 in your Steinberg user account, you can enjoy exclusive loyalty rebates of up to 70% on the full versions of Cubase Pro 13, Dorico Pro 5, WaveLab Pro 12, and Absolute 6 in the Steinberg Online Shop during the promotion period.” ← This makes no sense to me. If I already have an activated license for Cubase Pro 13, why would I buy another one with an: “up to 70% on the full versions of Cubase Pro 13”?. Are they talking about giving me a 70% discount if I buy an extra Cubase 13 Pro license if I already have a Cubase Pro 13 license?

“Can I also purchase a second copy of my application with the loyalty rebate?
No, if you already own a copy of, for example, Cubase Pro 13, you won’t be able to purchase another Cubase Pro 13 license with the loyalty rebate.” ← So, here they say, that I can’t do that. So what do they mean with the statement above?

Any help is appreciated.

EDIT: If I buy Cubase Pro 13 upgrade within the next month, will I get 70% discount on Dorico Pro 13, WaveLab Pro 12 and Absolute 6, instead of 50% discount? In other words, if I buy Dorico Pro 13, WaveLab Pro 12 or Absolute 6 without owning a Cubase Pro 13, I will get 50% discount (and not 70%)?

I’ve just upgraded Cubase Artist 13 to Pro using the 50% off offer and I had the 70% off vouchers in my account afterwards. I used the one for Wavelab Pro without a problem.
Hope that helps.

Hi,

You will not get this special one. But you will get better (upgrade) price, of course.

You will get this one.

If you (will) have Cubase Pro 13, you can get better price for Dorico 5 for example.

Oh, so you get 70%-off-vouchers for: Dorico 5, Absolute 6, and WaveLab 12, when you have Cubase Pro 13, no matter if you already had it before the sale started or if you just bought it?

So, I will not be able to buy Dorico 5, Absolute 6, or WaveLab 12 at 70% off, because I did not have Cubase Pro 13, already?

And what exactly do you mean by “better (upgrade) price”?

So, what exactly is this “special loyalty bonus offer”? Sorry, if this has been mentioned, but it’s just confusing to me.

You mean I can get Dorico 5, Absolute 6, and WaveLab 12 at 70% off (all 3)? Or only one of them (at 70% off, that is)?

This kind of contradicts what Naimman wrote, unless I am misunderstanding something.

I appreciate the time you take to reply, guys. I would love to finally get my hands on the newest stuff, but I need to clarify this, first.

My understanding is that you can upgrade from 8 to 13 for 50%.
Once you’ve done that, you should receive a 70% voucher for Dorico and Absolute.

Yes, that’s how it seems to me. I did not have Cubase 13 Pro before the 50% sale, I had Artist. As soon as I upgraded to Pro in the 50% sale, all the 70% vouchers were active in my account and I used the Wavelab Pro one to get that. Cheaper to use the 70% voucher and buy new than upgrading from my Elements version in the 50% sale!
