Cubase Audio Engine crashes when using VariAudio

As the title says, when I try to use VariAudio with longish files - say 30sec or so - Cubase freezes. First the audio drops out - maybe one or two tracks will play, the rest are muted - then when I try to quit the app I get the spinning beachball.

I believe there’s a fix for this - I know it came up before. Can anyone help me out? It’s a real blocker.

Hi,

Which Cubase version do you use?

Are you on Mac or Windows?

Cheers for the reply, Martin.

Cubase Pro 12 - old, I know - on a M2 Macbook Air running 14.7.3.

Hi,

Do you try to edit non-vowels sounds in the VariAudio by any chance?

Not intentionally, but I did grab a bunch of events and drag them into pitch without individually checking them, so it’s possible.

Why? Does that specifically cause problems?

Hi,

Yes. It’s s known issue.

Weird but certainly good to know. Cheers Martin.

So the best practice would be to go through first thing after analysis and just delete those correction segments and the problem shouldn’t come up again?
