Cubase basically hangs forever when exporting audio mixdowns

Cubase 10.0.60 goes stupid, even with ASIO guard off, when exporting audio mixdowns sometimes. Rebooting doesn’t help.

Sometimes deleting tracks (vst effects or instruments) will affect it.

Sometimes you can work around it using realtime export, but there should not be any reason why Cubase does what it does when it goes stupid.

It’s not reading anything from the disk. It’s not using more than 1% CPU. It’s sitting their hanging, basically waiting on something that will never happen. It writes less than 80kb of output data even after one hour of sitting there hung.

I find if I delete stuff from my project, until I can get it to export, then I can import that wav and build from there.

But it’s really getting me so angry that I’m about to go to StudioOne.

The behaviour appears to be a problem with the audio subsystem, with ASIO itself, and may be a bug in the steinberg UR22 yamaha driver, or in cubase. Sometimes it happens even in projects without any third party vsts.

Hi,

Are you on Mac or Windows, please?
