I recorded a long event to a single stereo audio track in Cubase 13. I then stopped the recording, saved the project, and closed it. Cubase then popped up a warning saying it had become unstable and to resave under a different name, but by then I’d already closed the project, so there was nothing I could do.
The Audio folder where the WAV file should be stored is empty. If I re-open the project, the “missing files” popup appears.
I understand Cubase writes files to disk in real-time, so how can I recover the data that seems to have been lost?
In case you didn’t see my answer elsewhere - try looking for a .bak file on your hard drive, maybe Cubase saved it a version that was close to complete (I can’t remember if that is turned on by default or not, and what the default autosave interval is).
