I edited a Halion Sonic 3 organ preset (Blues Split 2) and saved it as a VST3 file. If I then open MediaBay and double click the new preset it loads fine, and I can play the sound. However, as soon as I click E in the VST panel to open the Halion Sonic editor, Cubase crashes. I’ve tried it multiple times, and even rebooted my PC. It happens every time.
If I create a new instrument track with an instance of Halion Sonic 3, then load my new VST3 patch, everything works fine. I can open the editor without issue. The crash ONLY occurs when I load the sound by double clicking from within MediaBay.
Any ideas?

I discovered that if I load the file in Halion 6, then Save it using that VST, it opens fine from MediaBay. I also discovered that any Halion Sonic 3 VST that uses the Model C component causes the same crash. Any VST3 files I save with Halion Sonic NOT using Model C are fine.

To be able to resolve it, I would need the whole crash dump file, please.
Not surprising considering that plugins are loaded in the background, even when you are only examining meta-information.
The MediaBay in its’ current form needs massive overhauling in my view, the simple fact you cannot drag-and-drop presets to the rack and have plugin’s instanced speaks volumes in relation to suitability for professional usage; which is not to mention that audio output configurations for VST plugin’s cannot be saved anywhere at any rate.
