Hi. Cubase 10 crashes on my system too and does not create crash logs. BEX64 error doesnt appear in my windows logs but ucrtbase.dll does.
Also we get the same exception code : 0xc0000409 (stack buffer overflow) whatever that means.
This is the event log that Windows generates when Cubase closes itself out of the blue :

In my case it seems to be the graphics driver. I contacted Steinberg and they provided me with some possible fixes but none of them solved the problem.
Last possible fix they sent me was from this topic : Cubase 10 Has Stop Working (BEX64 error) on Windows 8 - Cubase - Steinberg Forums
I see a BEX64 error in your Windows log so this may be useful in your case. On my system it doesn´t help.
Cheers !

Hi,

Reaper Works great though :unamused:

In 1996 I bought Cubase Audio XT with a Session 8 interface and it crashed constantly. I lost several bands recordings due to cross linked files and I was finally posted a floppy disk with the update that fixed the faulty dll. I recall I dealt with a Giles Farley at Digidesign because no one would pick up the phone at steinberg. The cost of the kit was about £3500!!! Oh…and it was the deposit for a house, which I spent on Kit much to my parents upset.

I finally bought a second hand version of VST 5.1 in 1999. I have been using this version ever since because I was nervous of any upgrade. I used my kit professionally

Now here in 2019 not much has changed… Cubase 10 doesnt even start on my PC.

If this problem ain’t fixed quick then I am going to use Reaper as my History with Steinberg is Horrible!!!

Hi and welcome,

Try to follow this thread, please.

Its no Good, I’am afraid. I have Nvidia not AMD Radeon. I also think that crippling the Graphics card with a bog standard Windows Driver is a JOKE!

I am running Reaper now. It allows 8 versions of Avenger to run at 17% CPU !!!It seemlessly runs all my old 32 bit plugins and the 64 bit plugins too !
I don’t have to cripple my computer and its 88% cheaper than Cubase Pro !

I have removed all traces of Cubase LE from my PC now and am devoting my time to learning all about Reaper and configuring it to all the Keyboard shortcuts which are the same for Cubase. I was prepared to spend the full amount buying the “best”, but it would have been money wasted and another reason to feel bad in life. Reaper is an honest decent program which works and works really well! Its also a very good price too, which will help me to enjoy making music again. Thank you Reaper for making such a great program and being there for us musicians.
