I find sometimes that cubase does not record midi from vst instrument tracks when I use the inbuilt keyboard like in kontakt, and I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong?
Most (many?) VST instruments don’t send the MIDI back to the host from the GUI. In fact, I can’t think of any that I own that do. Maybe it is not even possible? I think Halion, Groove Agent, Reaktor, etc., are all the same. The MIDI goes from the MIDI track to the instrument, not from the instrument’s GUI to the MIDI track.
