Just curious to see if and/or when Steinberg will integrate Cubase and Dorico. I’m finding that I need to see the score and parts for the pieces I write rather than just seeing everything in the box. Strictly in the box, I get confused on what’s playing what and when, and since I use both Cubase and Dorico, I would absolutely LOVE to see an integration!
You’ll get more info about this on the Dorico forum. There has already been a why, a how, and a when explained.
You could search the forums for this topic and join an exisitng thread.
Yep, y’all are right. Found this one and I’ve added my own two cents to the discussion.
I’ve been trying to shutdown my original post because it led to a heated discussion fueled by people’s deeply rooted biases on many subjects concerning composing and the developers, while my OP was simply trying to state how nice it would be to have the two (Cubase and Dorico), integrated. In other words, don’t go there @Daniel_M ,no good can come from combining the two names (Cubase and Dorico) in a single thread. To many it seems to put them in heat!
I get that. I was doing the same thing the OP was. I added my comments because I figured it would be better than starting a whole new thread because, y’know, visibility for the mods.
CUBICO.
100% and you got my vote for this thread.
Dude I LOVE this!! That’s the new Cubendo!
#Cubico
Thanks, mate!
Update to this. I’ve been informed by a colleague that complete and total integration of Cubase and Dorico would be extremely difficult as they are two different pieces of very complex software, so perhaps a separate program designed specifically for these two to simply talk to each other would be the better option?
Nah, it is clear that the current Score Editor of Cubase will be totally replaced by something that the Dorico team will create. It is just a matter of time. How much of Dorico it will be remains to be seen. I would, however, expect that future projects/data can be interchanged much more smoothly then is currently the case.
That has potential. Really, as long as the Cubase+Dorico workflow is (eventually) a thing, I’m ok with it.
