Cubase elements 11 fails to start after reinstallation

I needed to reload elements 11 after I had some work done on my computer and it now fails to start. It gives the error message “The code execution cannot proceed becauseVCRUNTIME140_1.dll could not be found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem”. I duly reinstalled the program using Download Manager, but it did not fix the problem. Can anyone provide an idiot’s guide to fixing it?

I would try to install Cubase as administrator.

This VCRUNTIME140 thing is related to the Microsoft Redistributable library. You can also install it separately. There are already lots of threads on this topic here on the forum.
