Cubase Elements 8 - Default midi output device

When I import a midi file is there a way to route all the channels to an external keyboard, by default.

I have setup my keyborad and installed the patch library in cubase, all good. In midi import preferences I have selected to extract the 1st patch. When I import a midi file, it reads the channel and program correctly, but it set the output of each track to ‘Microsoft GS wave table synth’. I have to change the output (in the track inspector) to route to my external keyborad manually, for each track, which is bit anoying.

Is there a way to set the default output of midi to my external keyborad instead of ‘Microsoft GS wave table synth’

Thanks guys…

Hi,

The only one way is to disable all other MIDI Ports in the Devices > Device Setup > MIDI Device. I believe, you don’t need the Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth anyway, right?

Appart from this, there is no way, how to set the default MIDI Port for the imported MIDI tracks.
