I own Cubase Pro but hinking of buying Cubasse Elements ass well to use on a laptop without having to take the dongle with me. Just wondering what happens when I try and exchange projects between Pro and Elements? For example, if I have a Pro project that uses Variaudio, can I load it in Elements, work on some stuff there, then bring it back to Pro and still have all the Variaudio parts untouched? Or is it (as I suspect) not that simple/easy?

Yes, it’s played back, but you cannot edit. Once you are back on Cubase Pro with your project, you can edit again.
I would recommend to download Cubase Elements Trial and try yourself.
