does the eq in the channel settings window still be first in the chain?
Perhaps you need to better clarify your question?
The position of the EQ in the strip (which is the same shown both in the mixer and the channels settings widow) can be adjusted in the pre-fader processing chain - if you want it first in the chain you can have it. This can be individual for each channel.
